New Overtime Regs Now Final: Comply by December 1

Duration: 90 minutes

The long-awaited final version of the new overtime regulations has been released and will go into effect before year end. There were a few surprises in the final rules -- some good for employers and some not.

How will these changes affect your organization? Unless every one of your exempt employees (under admin, professional or executive exemptions) makes more than $47K a year, the new rules will have dramatic consequences on either your bottom line or your employees’ schedules. Or more likely, both.

The deadline for full compliance is Dec. 1 -- which means organizations need to take steps now to prepare.

But you can’t take any steps until you know exactly what the regs require and what you’ll need to do differently. To help you understand how the new rules will apply to your organization, and what you need do now to prepare, we’ve teamed up with employment law attorney and FLSA expert Anniken Davenport.

Attendees in this session will walk away from the webinar knowing exactly what steps they need to take immediately and they’ll understand why they CAN NOT WAIT until December to take action.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

This webinar will explain everything you need to know about the new regulations—including some surprises. And you’ll get answers to questions such as:

  • Should we adjust schedules for employees who will become eligible for overtime pay? When should we start making those changes?
  • Should we increase compensation for some employees to put them above the new threshold?
  • Will my exempt employees who are already over the new threshold still be exempt after December 1? Do we need to reevaluate their job descriptions and duties?
  • When can we include bonuses in the salary calculations? When can we not?
  • How often will the salary threshold change going forward and how can we predict future levels for budgeting and staffing purposes?
  • Will our payroll team need to adjust their processes? Will they need additional training?
  • How will the new rules impact my employees who work from home?
