Finance Bootcamp for Non-Financial Managers

Duration: 90 minutes

Recorded on June 30, 2016 at 1pm ET

Successful organizations rely on high-performance CFOs and Controllers to keep their financial houses in order. But the burden of financial management can’t fall entirely on the back office.

Managers in every department must be well versed in the basics of finance in order to truly maximize return on company resources. If any part of a manager’s job involves decisions that affect P&L, they need a solid grasp of budgeting, cash efficiency and financial statements.

The question is, are your managers prepared to help manage your company’s financial future? Do they understand how their department’s budget fits into the big picture? Are they able to read your company’s financial statements and offer insight into how they can contribute more to the bottom line?

This conference will show every member of your management team how to think in terms of ROI and the bottom line, just like the CEO and CFO. Speaker Valerie Grubb will review how to tie budget initiatives to company goals. She’ll also review how to read and understand financial statements and will illustrate how individual department managers’ actions can directly affect the company’s financial future.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

After attending this conference, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the fundamental elements of the three key financial statements
  • Develop a budget that couples spending to company’s goals
  • Understand the connection between individual department spending and the company’s bottom line
  • Demonstrate Return on Investment (ROI) for projects under consideration
  • Compare ROI and Cash Efficiency to determine initiatives that deliver the biggest bang for your buck
  • Quickly identify the financial health of the organization through company financial statements.
  • Identify tactics to deal with common financial challenges -- including cash flow issues.
